A Briton, and American and a Spanish businessman were among seven people killed in a plane crash in northern Iraq, the country’s mobile phone company AsiaCell has said.
The three Westerners were guests of an Iraqi businessman, an AsiaCell board member, who also died in Friday’s crash, a statement from the company said.
The crew – two Jordanians and a Lebanese – were also killed.
The small plane’s engine caught on fire shortly after taking off from Sulaimaniyah Airport in northern Iraq. It tried to land but crashed in a heavy snowstorm.
The plane was heading to the Turkish capital of Ankara.
Authorities have blamed the crash on a mechanical failure.
Sulaimaniyah is 160 miles north-east of Baghdad.
