Crazy weather remains across the UK – and Storm Henry’s coming next

Must read

Parts of Scotland have been hit by snow, yellow “be aware” warnings for ice and snow remain across all of Scotland – and also Northern Ireland, Wales, northern England and the Midlands – plus there’s hazardous driving conditions.

And all this is thanks to Storm Gertrude. Here’s a look at just how severe the weather’s been in parts of the country … At least some people’s dogs seem to be enjoying themselves.

The weather is set to stay unsettled into next week, with more warnings – some of them amber – in place for the arrival of another storm on Monday.

The Met Office said the vigorous low pressure system is named Storm Henry (yes, another ridiculous name) . It’s expected to pass just to the north of Scotland, with very strong west or southwesterly winds across much of the UK.
