Escaped tiger in Georgia kills man


A tiger which escaped from a zoo in Georgia has killed a man.

The country’s interior ministry said the animal attacked in the centre of the capital Tbilisi this morning.

Police special forces are now hunting the tiger down.
A hippo, bears and wolves are also among the animals who fled from their enclosures amid the flooding from heavy rains and high winds.

Three zoo workers died in the flooding, and city mayor David Narmania told journalists that eight people are known to have died and 10 others are missing.
