Will Ferrell is set to guest star in US TV show The Office.
The American funnyman will play a visiting branch manager who proves to be just as hapless as Dunder Mifflin boss Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, Entertainment Tonight reported.
It is not known how many episodes Will, who gets to reunite with his Anchorman co-star Steve, would feature in and if he would become a regular.
“We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star – we are proud to continue The Office’s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality,” said the show’s executive producer Paul Lieberstein.
Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute, has tweeted his enthusiasm for Will’s appearance on the show.
“Yes it’s true! Will Farrell is joining the Office for (at least) a four episode arc! We’re psyched!” he wrote.
Steve has said he will be leaving his lead role in the Emmy Award-winning series after the current seventh season to focus on his family.
