A man facing foreclosure on his apartment has shot dead his former employers and two bank workers in a small Spanish town.
Police said the 57-year-old walked into a bar in Olot, near Girona, and killed two men with a shotgun. Minutes later he went to a bank and killed the two staff.
The victims in the bar were a building company owner and his son, and the man had worked for their firm.
Police sources said he had a mortgage at the bank for an apartment that was going to be seized for non-payment. They added that he had not been paid and was unable to cash a cheque at the bank.
Olot mayor Lluis Sacrest said that financial problems appeared to have been behind the killings.
