Apple has been given the go-ahead for an €850m data centre in Galway.
The facility will cater for the company’s Apple Music, App Store, Messages, Maps and Siri customers in Europe.
The development will include a data centre, logistic and administration building and security unit in Athenry.
The higher planning authority has now granted permission for the development with conditions attached after various objections to the project.
