Halle Berry is being tipped to play a cougar who has an affair with her husband’s 19-year-old summer intern in a new sexual thriller.
The 44-year-old actress has reportedly been offered the part in Basic Instinct director Paul Verhoeven’s new film The Student, according to Collider.com
The movie, written by Wendy Diane Miller, is about a 19-year-old who takes a summer internship and then begins a dangerous affair with the boss’s wife, named Miranda, who Halle has been asked to play.
The former Bond Girl was linked to a project of Verhoeven’s called The Surrogate last year.
Dutch director Verhoeven has not made a film since the critically acclaimed Black Books, which he made in his native language in 2006.
Halle recently pulled out of a film job to prepare for a custody fight over her two-year-old daughter Nahla with ex-boyfriend French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, 35.
A spokeswoman for the Bond star said the Oscar-winner had backed out of a role in New Year’s Eve, set to be filmed in New York this week, “due to pending custody litigation involving her daughter”.
