Murder police are investigating after a badly injured 15-year-old boy was found dead in a bath.
The teenager was discovered apparently drowned and with a number of other injuries at the property in Newham, east London, at lunchtime on Saturday.
A 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have been arrested.
Police were called by London Ambulance Service to the property in Hathaway Crescent at 12.15pm following reports of a drowning.
Officers found the boy in the bath with “a number of injuries” and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin were aware, Scotland Yard said.
The death is being treated as suspicious and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.
Members of the Met’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.
The two people arrested are in custody at separate police stations in east London.
