Jagger: Marriage is not for me

Must read

Mick Jagger has no plans to write his own life story

Mick Jagger has said he thinks that autobiographies like the one written by bandmate Keith Richards are ”tedious” and that marriage is not for him.

The Rolling Stones frontman said he would never release a book about his own past.

He told the New York Times’ T magazine: “Personally. I think it’s really quite tedious raking over the past. Mostly, people only do it for the money.”

Keith portrayed his bandmate as an egomaniac in his best-selling book, Life, and even described him as having a “tiny todger”.

Asked about the possibility of penning his own memoir, Sir Mick said: “You don’t want to end up like some old footballer in a pub, talking about how he made the cross in the cup final in 1964.”

The star also spoke about his relationship with L’Wren Scott – and ruled out marrying the model turned designer.

He said: “I don’t really subscribe to a completely normal view of what relationships should be. I have a bit more of a bohemian view. To be honest, I don’t really think much of marriage.

“I’m not saying it’s not a wonderful thing and people shouldn’t do it, but it’s not for me. And not for quite a few other people too, it would appear. I just think it’s perhaps not quite what it’s cracked up to be. I know it’s an elaborate fantasy.”
