Johnny Depp is Hollywood’s most overpaid actor for the second year in row, according to Forbes.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star topped the list following his box office flop Alice Through The Looking Glass, the magazine said. The Disney sequel hit cinemas at the same time Johnny’s high-profile divorce from Amber Heard was announced amid allegations of domestic abuse.

Johnny brought in just $2.80 at the box office for every dollar he was paid for his last three films before June, Forbes said.

The magazine discounted animated films from the list, as well as movies where actors had an insignificant role or where they were released in fewer than 2,000 cinemas.

Alice Through The Looking Glass grossed only $77 million in the US domestically and $300 million worldwide, against a production budget of $170 million, according to Box Office Mojo.

Johnny also suffered poor box office returns with the 2015 comedy Mortdecai and his 2014 film Transcendence, Forbes said.

Will Smith ranked second on the Forbes list, returning just $5 for every dollar he earned following the release of Concussion and Focus.

Channing Tatum came in third following the 2015 flop Jupiter Ascending, leaving him with $6 earned at the box office for every dollar he was paid.

Will Ferrell was fourth with $6.50 brought in for every dollar he earned, while George Clooney was fifth, returning $6.70 dollars.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper also feature in the top 10.

Johnny is set to appear in another big-budget film, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which is due to be released in May.
