Cudi has announced the name of his sixth album: Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ – but says there will be no “dark sad songs on this one”.
The album is set for release at some point this summer, Cudi said on Twitter, while he also shared a snippet of a song in Instagram.
Featuring visuals of the Millennium Falcon and a futuristic beat produced by Cudi and Mike Dean, here’s a taste of what to expect from the project.
Cudi’s albums have become increasingly more experimental with each new release, allowing him to nurture his “inner creative psycho”.
Speedin’ Bullet To Heaven, released late in 2015, was the most polarising album to come from the Cleveland artist, more rock than hip hop. Some fans wanted a throwback to the more alternative hip hop that marked out Cudi’s path with his Man on the Moon projects, but the 32-year-old made it clear last year each of his projects would be different.
With that in mind, Passion Pain & Demon Slayin’ will definitely be one of this summer’s most interesting releases.
