King Charles and Camilla the Queen Consort will make their first state visit to France and Germany from 26 to 31 March, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
President Emmanuel Macron of France will host a state banquet for the royal couple at the Palace of Versailles. After leaving the French capital Paris they will continue onwards to Berlin in Germany during a six-day visit.
In Germany, the King will address the German Parliament, the Bundestag making him the first British sovereign to do so. Part of the Royal Couple’s schedule will include a visit to memorials to Allied bombing in Hamburg and to young Jewish refugees who fled the Nazis.
