Lady Gaga has said she is “so grateful” to be named woman of the year by Billboard magazine.
Billboard announced the pop star will be honoured with the title at its Women In Music event in New York City on December 11.
Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, released the Grammy-winning collaborative jazz album, Cheek To Cheek, with Tony Bennett in 2014.
The duo performed songs from the album on a 36-date tour.
The 29-year-old singer also plans to release an album next year and will star in FX’s American Horror Story: Hotel, which premieres on US screens on October 7.
The decade-old Women In Music event, which also celebrates the year’s 50 most powerful female executives in the music industry, will be televised for the first time, on Lifetime on December 18.
