Maria Bello will take on Dame Helen Mirren’s role in the US version of Prime Suspect, it has been reported.
The actress, who’s starred in A History Of Violence and Coyote Ugly, is said to be playing DCI Jane Tennison in the US remake of the Lynda La Plante series, and said she’s “nervous” about stepping into Dame Helen’s shoes.
Maria is quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying: “I’m definitely nervous to even think about taking over from Helen Mirren. I mean c’mon! How could anyone compete with her?”
Dame Helen picked up three Baftas and two Emmys for the role.
