The search has resumed for a young woman missing for nearly a week.

Police investigating the disappearance of Joanna Yeates, 25, are examining new CCTV footage and have also taken a phone and laptop computer from her boyfriend Greg Reardon.

A spokesman said: “We have seized a phone and a laptop from Mr Reardon as part of our ongoing investigation.” Mr Reardon is not believed to be a suspect.

The young architect – known as Jo to friends – was last seen leaving the Ram pub in Park Street, Bristol, after a Christmas drink with colleagues on Friday night.

Following an emotional appeal on Tuesday by Miss Yeates’ parents for information regarding her whereabouts, private CCTV footage was handed to Avon and Somerset Police which shows Canynge Road, Bristol, where she lived with Mr Reardon.

Mr Reardon reported Miss Yeates missing after returning to the flat they shared in the Clifton area on Sunday. He had been visiting family in Sheffield over the weekend and had been unable to contact Miss Yeates since Friday.

Det Supt Mark Saunders said: “We had someone contact us who had some private CCTV which actually shows Canynge Road and the thing for me is that you can see lots of people walking up and down and vehicles driving up and down on Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning.

“We’d really like to get hold of any of those people because if anyone was in that street, even if you didn’t think you saw anything, please contact us as we’d really like to speak to you. You might be able to help us.”

Miss Yeates left the pub at about 8pm, walking up Park Street. She stopped in Waitrose and then carried on to the Tesco express on Regent Road at about 8.40pm. A receipt from Tesco was found in her flat along with the cream coloured coat she had been wearing.

“She’s a professional person, this is completely out of character, no-one has heard from her from Friday night onwards. We’re really worried about her and her family are absolutely distraught,” Mr Saunders added.
