Thick, long, fluttery eyelashes are every woman’s dream. In order to give our eyes a dramatic look we end up reaching for false eyelashes, eye mascara, eyelash extensions or serums which may not always be a good idea as eyes are the most sensitive part in our face. Not all of us are blessed with spidery lashes, hence we can explore ways to ensure the lashes grow lush and stay healthy naturally. Here are organic ways or natural and inexpensive tricks to help us get fuller lashes without embracing the falsies and glue, rather make them beautiful and long.

Nourish with oil

Natural oils like castor, coconut and olive are brilliant for hair growth. You can try this tip every day for growing lashes, dip a cotton wool or bud in your choice of oil and apply on the lashes. Simply leave it overnight and wash off the next morning.

Petroleum jelly

You can apply pure petroleum jelly every night on your lashes, as it promotes lash growth besides making them resilient to breakage.

Use Aloe Vera

This is a no-brainer, aloe vera is great for hydrating the hair follicles from within way to get fuller lashes. You can smoothen aloe vera gel or natural aloe juice on the lashes for nourishing the lashes. If you wish you can throw in a few drops of jojoba oil to aloe vera gel and apply on the eyelashes for enhanced results.

Vitamin E

We are aware of the benefits of vitamins for our face. You can use vitamin E straight on the lashes for some amazing results by squeezing out the Vitamin E from a few capsules and applying it on the lashes before you hit the bed. You can cover it with an eye mask if you find it too gluey while sleeping. 

Lemon Peel And Oil

We are aware that olive and castor oils promote hair growth and thickness, while lemon peels promote hair growth since it is enriched with vitamins A and C. Every night you can apply this mixture – small lemon peel pieces soaked in the oil for few days. Now, apply this oil on the eyelashes before going to bed for longer, thicker eyelashes.

Green Tea

You might be having it every day, how about some for your lashes? With excess of antioxidants found in green tea, it promotes healthy lash growth and makes them longer, thicker, and stronger. For this you have to add the green tea leaves to water, allow them to steep for some time, once the water has cooled down, apply it to your lashes and leave overnight.

Eyelid Massage

Massages can be therapeutic! Massaging the eyelids rejuvenate tired eyes and stimulate blood circulation around the eye area. Besides it also promotes lash growth and prevents breakage. You can gently massage your lids for a few minutes every day for longer and voluminous lashes.

Food For Lashes

A balanced diet to back the growth of healthy eyelash from within, a good amount of proteins and healthy fats are a must for healthy lash growth. Here are a few things to eat to boost the health of your eyelashes. Fruits like apples, guavas, cranberries, citrus fruits, strawberries, and blueberries. Green leafy vegetables, collard greens, peas, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, kale, and Brussel sprouts. Protein sources such as eggs, lean meat, fish, poultry, cheese, and milk. Healthy fats that are found in almonds, sunflower seeds, olive oil, and avocados.

Beauty Expert, Shruti Seth recommends, ‘Organic Shea butter is great on your lashes, so apply it every night. Shea butter has vitamin A and vitamin E, nourishes the hair follicles and enhances its growth. A little bit of shea butter on your palms, melt it by rubbing your fingers together and apply it on your lashes. You can also make your lash serum by taking two drops cedarwood essential oil, two drops lavender essential oil and one teaspoon castor oil, mix all the oils, shake well and the blend is ready to use every night. Another very effective remedy for growing thick eyelashes is emu oil, stimulates hair growth and improving the hair’s overall health so dab a little of this oil to your lashes everyday. Eggs contain biotin and vitamin B, both of which improve the texture of hair, high in protein applying a beaten egg onto your lashes habitually for several months will help you to attain thicker and longer eyelashes. Also almond oil is a great lash nourisher. You may also take biotin or Vitamin H supplement every night for thicker lashes.’
