Cheryl Cole’s representatives are keeping tight-lipped over reports that she is close to finalising a deal to be a panellist on the US version of The X Factor.
The singer is said to be in talks to reprise her role when Simon Cowell launches the talent contest across the Atlantic next year.
But Cheryl’s spokesman would not comment on any progress in the discussions this morning.
The Sun claimed that she was on the verge of signing a one-year deal worth up to £3 million to work on the show. Simon has given up his role as a judge on American Idol to launch X Factor in the US.
It is reported that bosses of the Fox network had been to see Cheryl at the weekend.
But the singer’s spokesman posted a message on Twitter this morning which read: “Wonder how many times we will say ‘No comment’ today.”
