Generations of Londoners and several thousands of revellers celebrated the Caribbean culture in London this Bank holiday weekend.
Known as Europe’s largest street festival, ‘The Notting Hill Carnival’, celebrates Caribbean arts and culture attracting about two million people each year.
This year’s carnival saw thousands of performers, spectacular colourfull costumes and music-filled floats dancing on the streets in London for the parade. This year’s carnival across the weekend had around 2 million people in attendance.
There were dancers, DJs and drummers party through the streets parade and the atmosphere was electrifying. People were dancing, eating and drinking and generally having a good time.
Security was good and this allowed people to relax and enjoy the festivities safely. Police say 243 arrests were made on Sunday but described the mood at Carnival as “overwhelmingly positive and celebratory”.
