Dropping a surprise album sometimes isn’t that much of a surprise anymore since quite a few artists have jumped on that bandwagon.
But that rule does NOT apply to Beyonce.
Queen Bey broadcast Lemonade – her new ‘visual-album’ with a video for each song – on HBO then dropped the album on Tidal for streaming straight after.
Standout scenes for many fans were the ones that paid homage to the Black Lives Matter movement.
And the ones that roused a strong sense of pride.
But it did also raise some confusing – the few tracks talk about a bitter relationship break up which got everyone like WHAT? Jaz-Z? What does it mean?
