It is with great sadness to announce the death of Queen Elizabeth II today. Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth was the longest reigning monarch in Britain and was much loved in the country and all around the commonwealth nations.

She came on to the throne at the death of her father in 1952 and as appointed 15 Prime Ministers all through her life. She celebrated her 70 years of reign earlier this year during the Platinum Jubilee.

Her majesty was an iconic figure in the world with a great sense of duty and leaves behind a huge legacy that will be very hard to beat. She came on to the throne in 1952 and served relentlessly until the end, serving with great dignity.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in Britain

The crown now passes to her son, who now becomes King Charles.
