The Queen remains under medical supervision this morning amidst concerns for the health of the 96-year old monarch, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: ‘Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.”
She appointed Liz Truss as Prime Minister of the country and later pulled out of a virtual meeting with senior government ministers.
It was speculated that the Queen had previously suffered a fall but this was later downplayed and connected to her health concerns according to a palace source. Britain’s longest reigning monarch has ongoing mobility issues and has had to reduce quite a number of her official engagements these past few months.
Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall are said to have travelled to Balmoral to be by her side. It was also announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on their way to Balmoral.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this difficult period
