Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has revealed a new side of himself on YouTube, showing off funky dance moves as the band released their latest album as a download.
The singer is seen cavorting in a black and white video for the song Lotus Flower, which was posted on the Google-owned website.
The track is taken from Radiohead’s new album The King Of Limbs which has been rush-released by the band.
The group were due to release their eighth album on Saturday but brought it forward to by 24 hours. They have again bypassed major labels, instead making it available for download through their website.
They had a long association with EMI’s Parlophone label but opted to go it alone for 2007 album In Rainbows.
The internet was soon abuzz with excitement from devotees with the album title quickly becoming one of the most popular phrases on social networking site Twitter.
A CD and vinyl version of the new album will be available in a few weeks through independent label XL, with a luxury box set to follow in May.
The band announced on Monday that the album was complete and ready for release with a message headed simply “thank you for waiting”.
The album features eight tracks with titles such as Bloom, Morning Mr Magpie, Feral and Give Up The Ghost.
A statement on behalf of Radiohead said: “With everything ready on their website, the band decided to bring forward the release by a day as there was no need to wait until the planned date of Saturday Feb 19 to deliver the music.”
