RAF fighter jets target oilfield on second combat mission

Must read

RAF fighter jets have targeted another oilfield during their second combat mission in Syria.

Typhoons were used for the first time since Britain launched airstrikes against Islamic State in the country.

The aircraft took off from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus last night in an effort to cut off the financial supply to IS.

Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has been visiting the airbase: “That’s a pretty impressive achievement I mean they only arrived here the previous day, a long flight down from Scotland.

“They were in action straight away on Friday night and successful, we believe, in striking that particular target.”
