A suspected US missile strike has killed four alleged militants in a tribal area along the border with Afghanistan, Pakistani intelligence officials said

The strike indicates the US is unwilling to abandon the tactic, even amid heated tensions with Pakistan over the arrest of an American who shot two Pakistanis and whom Washington insists has diplomatic immunity.

The two intelligence officials said three missiles hit a house overnight in the Kaza Panga village of the Azam Warsak area in South Waziristan tribal region.

Pakistan’s tribal regions are key hideouts for Taliban and al Qaida fighters.
