Tom Hardy reveals his extreme cyber-security measures as he admits to ‘getting hacked all the time’

Mad Max: Fury Road actor Tom Hardy admitted his family “get hacked all the time” as he revealed how far he goes to avoid the fate of fellow Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence.

Jen was among the Hollywood stars whose personal photos were leaked two years ago during an attack on their iCloud accounts, something which Tom said he “doesn’t touch”.

The 38-year-old, who has two children, revealed he uses ”burner” phones – cheap, pre-paid mobiles that he bins after use – and “private offline servers” for emails as “anyone I’m related to” becomes a target.

Tom said: “We’re burning numbers left, right and centre. Everything just gets riddled – it’s my mum, my dad, everyone.

“It’s quite painful when you think about it, we’re quite normal people in that aspect.”

Tom, who is married to Peaky Blinders actress Charlotte Riley, said he “didn’t want people knowing about my kids,” as he revealed that million-dollar movie scripts and assets were also at risk.

Adding that he has fears people will be able to discover his location through apps, he said: “It’s actually a really negative aspect of doing my job.”

He spoke at the launch of Sirin Labs’ Android “military grade” encrypted £11,400 Solarin phone alongside his The Revenant co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
