Two people have been arrested over the theft of a meerkat.
The animal went missing from its enclosure at Wingham Wildlife Park, near Canterbury, Kent, on December 29.
Its body was then discovered in a bin in Sandwich earlier this month after a member of the public reported seeing it being run over by a car nearby.
A Kent Police spokeswoman said a 47-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man from the Sandwich area had been arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of drugs.
The pair have been bailed until March 9 pending further inquiries.
