Lingerie entrepreneur Michelle Mone has launched a range of underwear for St Andrew’s Day featuring her own tartan.
Mone, 39, who received an OBE for her services to the UK lingerie industry last week, developed the bespoke “Ultimo” tartan for her new limited edition range, which is being sold through Debenhams stores.
The range is modelled by supermodel Raica Oliveira, an ex-Victoria’s Secret model who once dated Brazilian football ace Ronaldo.
The tycoon, who launched her Ultimo brand in 1999, said: “Whilst Ultimo is a globally-recognised brand and stocked throughout the UK, I wanted to celebrate the brand’s Scottish roots and create something fun and flirty in celebration of St Andrew’s Day.
“Over the past few years tartan has shed its traditional roots and become synonymous with fashion, thanks to designers like Christopher Kane and Vivienne Westwood – and it’s perfectly fitting that Ultimo should be the first lingerie brand to have their very own tartan.
“This range is gorgeous and every Scottish lassie should have a set in their lingerie drawer.”
