Matt Damon has admitted he is a very protective father.
The True Grit star is stepdad to 12-year-old Alexia from wife Luciana’s previous marriage, as well as having three young daughters of his own, Isabella, four, Gia, two and three-month-old Stella.
Matt told the Radio Times: “Like any father, I’m concerned a little about her [Alexia] becoming a teenager… because I know just what teenage boys are thinking.
He added: “Luckily, she is a terrific kid and the best you can hope for is that you are raising someone who has a lot of self-esteem and a lot of common sense.”
The Oscar-winning actor admits it is hard juggling his Hollywood career with raising his large family.
He said: “Each new baby is different but what gets harder is the fact that you have the other kids now.
“It is less that you are intimidated by having another baby, and more that you want to make sure you are not giving any of the other kids short shrift because you feel like you are on paternity leave.”
Matt stars with Jeff Bridges and 13-year-old Hailee Steinfeld in the Coen Brothers’ remake of True Grit.
He said: “I met Hailee in New Mexico to rehearse, and I just remember being struck by how poised she was. I have a 12-year-old, and to see a 13-year-old so mature, it was alarming.”
