Meat Loaf is taking part in the new series of Celebrity Apprentice

Meat Loaf and La Toya Jackson are among those competing to to be named Donald Trumps latest Celebrity Apprentice.

The 16 contenders, who were announced by the American business mogul on Friday, also include rock singer Mark McGrath, one-time teen idol David Cassidy, actor Gary Busey and Richard Hatch, remembered as the fat, naked guy on the first season of Survivor.

Hatch has been embroiled in lengthy legal battle with the Internal Revenue Service over unpaid taxes and could still be facing jail time.

The L Word star Marlee Matlin, singer Dionne Warwick and retired Major League baseball player Jose Canseco have also signed up for the latest series of the show, which sees celebrities taking part in business-related tasks around New York City.

Each hopes to raise money for a favourite charity if crowned the winner by host and judge Donald.

The new season begins on March 6 on NBC.
