Eight American tourists have been killed and 21 others injured when their bus smashed into a truck in southern Egypt, the country’s national news agency said.
Mena said the crash took place early on Sunday as the tourists were travelling from Aswan to Abu Simbel, the site of an ancient Egyptian temple.
Road accidents are common in Egypt because of bad roads and poor enforcement of traffic rules. An estimated 8,000 people die in car accidents annually in the country.
